Social Studies is my favorite subject! I make sure to integrate S.S. into the core curriculum as much as possible. My classroom "theme" is Ms. Wertheim's World Travelers, and we do indeed travel the world, with a little help from technology ;)
In my class, I place a large emphasis on Citizenship and Social Responsibility. Your child will participate in fun, educational service learning opportunities while gaining an understanding and appreciation for other cultures. My students are "Little Leaders Making a BIG Difference," with one simple yet powerful motto: You're never too young to change the world!
One big project we will be doing this year is a class fundraiser to sponsor a student's education in rural Nepal. Your child will explore what education is like in other countries around the world and will have the chance to "travel" to different countries and historic landmarks via Google Earth.
